He died cardiac arrest from coronary artery disease on 21 November 1980 at the age of 82 at 9100 Charles Street in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. He was buried on 25 November 1980 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. Gustav was a cabinet maker in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Gustav Lange and Teofile Sagert lived in 9100 Charles Street, Chilliwack, BC in 1980. They were married. Teofile Sagert was born on 12 September 1895 in Fasowa, Ukraine.
