35. John William Carr was born on 26 March 1874 at twin to Joseph in Bethel, Fayette, Iowa. He received a University of ND degree in 1892 in Grand Forks, ND. He was educated University of Minnesota Law School in 1900 in Minneapolis, MN. In 1901–1922 John was a legislator and lawyer in Jamestown, ND. In 1922–1928 he was a Congressional Representative in Jamestown, ND. In 1926–1928 he was a Speaker of House of Representatives in North Dakota. In 1928–1932 John was a Lieutenant Governor in North Dakota. He died of recurring cancer - liver and colon on 14 June 1942 at the age of 68 in Jamestown, ND.

John William Carr and Marie Andersdatter Remmen were married on 22 August 1905 in Valley City, ND. Marie Andersdatter Remmen was born on 19 May 1874 in Warsaw, MN. She died on 4 March 1920 at the age of 45 in Jamestown, ND.

John William Carr and Martha Ella Gleason were married on 20 August 1921 in Jamestown, Stutsman, North Dakota. Martha Ella Gleason was born in February 1881 in California. She lived in Jamestown, Stutsman, North Dakota in 1920. She lived in Jamestown, Stutsman, North Dakota in 1930. Martha lived in Houston, Harris, Texas in 1940. She died on 13 November 1954 at the age of 73 in Harris, Texas.
